Copyright & takedown requests
Last updated: 2026-10-28
This page is a working draft prepared for the operator. Clauses marked [legal review] must be confirmed by a qualified adviser before launch.
We only host works that Project Gutenberg records as public domain in the United States, and we check contributor dates for other countries. Mistakes are still possible, and we act on them quickly.
How to send a notice
Email info@webyenilik.com with the subject "Takedown request" and include:
- The exact address (URL) of the page or file on this site.
- The work you own rights in, and the country or countries where you hold them.
- Why the work is not public domain there (for example the author's or translator's date of death, or a copyright registration).
- Your name, postal address and a way to reach you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, that the information is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your signature (typed is fine).
What happens next
- Within two working days of a complete notice the book is set to suspended: its files are removed from the server, the page is replaced by a notice with a 410 status, and it leaves the sitemap and all listings.
- We record the decision in the book's rights file and, where appropriate, notify Project Gutenberg so the catalog can be corrected.
- We reply to you confirming the action.
Counter-notice
If you believe a work was removed in error, write to the same address with the URL, your contact details and the basis on which the work is public domain in the relevant country. [legal review] Confirm the formal counter-notice requirements for the applicable regime (DMCA §512(g), EU DSA Art. 20, Law 5651).
